To be a good fit for the Assistant Project Manager opportunity, you will have:

• 2+ years of experience coordinating or managing projects in commercial construction, including handling RFIs and change orders, interpreting drawings, etc. Quick question for you - click here
• Plumbing, mechanical and/or HVAC experience is strongly preferred.
• The ability to utilize resources, including people, tools and time, to meet tight deadlines and achieve desired results.

We'll expect you to be in the office daily, and we are taking appropriate precautions to ensure everyone's well-being. You'll generally be in the office from 7-4:30 M-F (though you should have your phone on and available any time job sites are active, which may be as early as 5 am or later into the evening, depending on business needs).

You will report to an assigned Project Manager. Internally, your title will be Project Engineer. At AMSI we specialize in mechanical construction contracts as well as the tenant renovation market, with a specialty in variable refrigerant flow (VRF) systems and conventional HVAC systems. Rather than owner-directed jobs, we are usually working for a General Contractor. Our goal is to be the first subcontractor on the job and to execute the contract as quickly and efficiently as possible.

More specifically, you will:

• Support the PM with leading multiple commercial HVAC projects at a time -- from beginning to end.
• Coordinate with the AMSI support team - including job superintendents and foremen, AMSI's Safety Director, the Pre-Construction & Project Executive, and administrative support staff.
• Support the PM with the development, coordination, implementation, and management of all facets of the project to deliver it on time and under budget.
• Be a liaison that communicates to all internal and external parties involved on the project.
• Assist in the development of project schedules; coordinate internal manpower and subcontractor manpower needs on each project.
• Create, issue, and keep for the record all job documentation - purchase orders, subcontracts, RFIs, submittals, daily reports, change orders, progress billings, etc.
• Visit client sites, on occasion, to help resolve issues.
• Deliver a high-quality product to our customers.
