You will oversee the company’s project management department and serve as a key advisor to the President of this rapidly growing and highly regarded regional mechanical construction organization. Reporting to you will be approximately six Project Managers and two Project Coordinators. This is a "player-coach" role and you also will directly manage some projects. Quick question for you - click here

We specialize in mechanical construction contracts in the $3 million to $20 million range, as well as the tenant renovation market, involving variable refrigerant flow (VRF) systems, which are our specialty, as well as conventional HVAC systems. Our objective is to be able to be the first subcontractor on the job and to execute the contract as quickly and as efficiently as possible. To support that objective, you will create an environment that fosters a mindset focused on profitable growth through Lean Construction processes.

You will have ultimate responsibility for completing projects on schedule and on budget while meeting the customers’ quality and contractual requirements. You'll also work closely with estimators and with field operations to assure seamless communication throughout the life of the project, with no "gray areas" regarding who is responsible for what. We sometimes pursue bids, but most work is negotiated, based in large part on relationships. You will take point on maintaining solid relationships with subcontractors and vendors (plumbers, insulators, etc.). In addition, we install from our own sheet metal shop, so you'll coordinate with the plant manager.

Note: this description is intended to give you a general overview of the position and is not an exhaustive listing of duties and responsibilities.
